Cinco de Mayo Has Finally Arrived!

Cinco de Mayo Has Finally Arrived!

The Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association (PGSCA) presents the 35th annual Portland Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2019 at the beautiful Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland, Oregon. The largest multicultural festival in the state of Oregon, this bilingual fiesta will be open from 11am to 11pm daily. With special attractions, authentic food, carnival rides, live entertainment and more, this three-day fiesta is a celebration of different cultures and the community that brings us all together.

Join us on our main stage at this year’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, featuring top entertainment that ranges from world-famous musicians, incredible international acts and the best of local Latino talent. Kicking us off on Friday, May 3rd at the main tent, from 1pm-2pm help us celebrate new USA Citizens at this year’s Naturalization Ceremony. Witness new US Citizens begin their journey to the American Dream!

The internationally-acclaimed Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara, direct from the city of Guadalajara, will perform seven special performances from Friday to Sunday and will be joined onstage by Oregon’s very own Ballet Folklórico México en La Piel with swirling dresses and stomping feet of the Ballet.
Interested in Aztec Dance Troupe? Join us on Friday and Sunday as we welcome Danza Azteca Ollin Yollitzly. Traditional dance and ceremony performed in Mexico since early in the colonial period, Danza Azteca is a performance of ritual acts with bodily movements accompanied by rhythmic music produced mainly by percussion instruments.

On Sunday only, bright and early at 10am at the main stage tent, join us for Mariachi Mass, a spiritual and cultural aspect to the Cinco de Mayo festival, where positive family values are emphasized and shared by the Hispanic community. Liturgical music and dance will be provided by Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara and Oregon’s Premier Grupo Ballet Folklórico. All are welcomed but get there early because only a limited number of attendees will be allowed. $5 entry for Mariachi Mass guests, ages 7 and older. 6 & under free.
